![]() Dr. Ladino completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where he also completed his Fellowship in Nephrology in addition to being honored as Chief Fellow. He is also trained in Interventional Nephrology. Prior to joining The Kidney Group, Dr. Ladino was a Clinical Instructor in Nephrology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He will begin teaching Nephrology as a Professor in the Medical School at Nova Southeastern School of Medicine in the fall of 2012. He was the University of Miami’s second Fellow in Renal Transplantation, completing his training in the full management of the spectrum of Transplant Nephrology. This research involved Lupus and Transplant, BK Virus Nephropathy, and Calcineurin Inhibitor Toxicity. Dr. Ladino has the distinction of being Broward County’s only Board Certified Transplant Nephrologist, certified by both the American Society of Transplantation and the American Society of Nephrology. In addition to all aspects of both general and Critical Care Nephrology, Dr. Ladino sees both pre and post-transplant patients and works extensively with all regional transplant centers. Dr. Ladino was honored in 2011 with the “Dr. Robert Geronemus Memorial Renal Fellows Award” given by the Florida Society of Nephrology for his research study, “Accuracy of Ultrasound in the Detection of Inflow Stenosis of Arteriovenous Fistulae”. Dr. Ladino is also a Captain (Internal Medicine Medical Officer) in the United States Army Reserve, Medical Corps. He and his wife, Dr. Maria Carpintero, a Rheumatology assistant professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, have two sons. His interests include running, reading, ancient history, and the history of religion. He is fluent in Spanish. |
